There was a time when we had to wait for anime VHS which were years after the sub was done. 5 weeks is nada. when getting it weekly haha DBZ was done years before airing on Toonami. Still was fun to watch even knowing certain things would happen.

I just started watching anime two years ago, when a friend of mine told me I can watch anime in English dub, Always thought anime was in Japanese language so i just stayed away from it. Glad I didn't start early cause waiting for years is only going to make me lose interest with that anime

If you're gonna try one piece, take into consideration, they're not actually pirates.. every villain so far that I've seen, they just beat up and call it a day and for some reason that ends what they were doing and going to do forever onward, like the fight loss means they can never do bad or go back to doing what they were doing, none of them ever die either! The animation style and look of it is very much so late 90s early 2000s style, like they've almost kept it looking exactly the same as when it first came out.. far more than dragon ball has done! The MC doesn't mix it up or change moves and what not nearly at all, it's not for hundreds of episodes apart that you see small changes that are just different variations of the same exact moves. Just about every villain, big or small, has an absurd and ever increasingly annoying and unique laugh/chuckle/giggle and they just sound beyond stupid af! There's many side character's whom are rather annoying, whether their part is long, short, or recurring.. you see way more new abilities and changes to his crew than you'll ever see from him! Don't get me wrong though, as much as I personally am biased against and hate this anime... it does have its moments for some thing's, a few decent dramatic sad and famous scenes, some decent fight scenes, though none have ever given me goosebumps or that just super excited feeling like other anime big fights have done! For example in some of the newer anime, the black clover royal knights team fights, both the captain fights and the non captain member fights, though a couple of them specifically, a bunch of fights in my hero academia, attack on titan. For some somewhat older anime, bleach fights, especially when kenpachi and kisuke were involved, hunter x hunter, the big fights of naruto, and even a couple fights so far in boruto! One piece is rather goofy, very few serious moments, the female body types for the attractive women, are almost unanimously the same body figure, and they go from twigs with some proportions that look a bit unrealistic(yes I know it's an anime), to even more ridiculous plank style frames with what looks like completely fake boob jobs and bad Brazilian butt lifts like we see irl on some women out there, though some still have little ass to speak of, but giant tits for sure. Zoro, again, even though it's an anime, just I can't personally get past the whole 3 swords with one in his mouth.. to me its just bad, it ruins an otherwise awesome character! Franky just gets more and more bizarre and ridiculous as time goes on.. Anyways, like I said, with just about any anime, it has it's good moments, but to me, the anime is just not there as a whole, for me! Judge on your own, but I give this info as a warning because if you're anything like me, who's somewhat of a perfectionist/completionist, had I known this about the anime before watching it.. I never would have started it! Now because I am this way, I have to finish it, just like any anime, game, cleaning, puzzle, movie, book/srticle, even if I don't like it... which you'd think might mean I am hesitant and don't try or do lot of that stuff, but I've watched a good 80 to 100+ anime since I was a kid, though that number could be a lot higher, but I can't verify since kissanime site got brought down and I had most of my list on there. And many have been bad and I regret starting, but very few more so than this, particularly because it's sooooooooooooo looooooooonnnnngggggg..... personally never watched jojo's bizarre whatever, but I get the feeling from the few memes and vine clips I've seen of it, if people like that anime, they'd probably like one piece!

English is not the only lingo in the world u know!?
I prefer anything in a different language, however there are some novels I like em in english, otherwise I would've steered clear!

I watch almost everything in English, If it's not English I don't bother myself watching, lots of movies and anime I haven't watch and don't plan on watching cause there's no English dub for them

Probably better than them rushing and likely having people complain about it. Though they likely will get unhappy people anyways.

Anime endings to series tend to be good though, not like it will be Game of Thrones, Supernatural, Dexter before they redid it better, Lost, etc.
